Job Description

Job Title: Education Support Assistant

Job Type: Full-time, Long-term

Location: North London

Salary: £80-100 per day

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Education Support Assistant to join our team at a special educational needs (SEN) school in North London. The successful candidate will provide support to secondary school students aged 11-19 who require additional assistance in mainstream schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a secondary school setting
  • Provide academic support to students on a one-to-one or small group basis
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture, providing emotional support when needed
  • Implement positive behavior management strategies, including physical restraints, to maintain a safe learning environment
  • Use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control
  • Assist teachers with alternative teaching methods, such as Lego therapy and intensive interaction sessions
  • Be aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clear and up-to-date DBS
  • Experience working as a Teacher in a UK school
  • Patient and 'can-do' attitude
