About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team at Langworth Ward, Witham Court. As a Band 5 Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to older adults experiencing mental health problems associated with dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and treatment for patients in a safe and compassionate environment.
  • Work closely with the team to deliver, evaluate, and develop the care programme approach.
  • Be forward-thinking and innovative in the ongoing development of service provision.
  • Manage workloads in a challenging and ever-changing environment.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with patients, carers, and colleagues.
  • Act as an advocate and support patients through their care programme.
  • Provide complex information and negotiate, empathize, and reassure patients and carers.
  • Develop and complete nursing and risk assessments and reviews.
  • Organize and plan activities with patients, facilitating therapeutic and educational groups.
  • Accept ongoing accountability for patients and hold and manage delegated caseload.
Requirements
  • RMN or RNLD or RN: 1st Level Registration (NMC) or degree or equivalent.
  • Evidence of specialized continued professional training in clinical practice.
  • Relevant experience of working with mental health needs, older adults with dementia, and Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms in Dementia (BPSD).
  • Sound knowledge of the national agenda for mental health and clinical/risk assessment.
