Job Title: Sister/Charge Nurse - Cancer Assessment Unit

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team in the Cancer Assessment Unit at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with cancer, working closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist the ward manager in the overall running of the unit, implementing changes and supporting the wider team.
  • Carry the 902 bleep for division and hold the fire bleep as appropriate.
  • Administer chemotherapy within and outside of the division.
  • Coordinate and effectively communicate with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, safe, kind, and excellent care for patients.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with significant post-registration experience in an oncology/haematology setting.
  • Experience as a team leader and within an acute clinical area.
  • Knowledge of oncology and/or haematology disorders, advanced assessment skills, and experience of triage or acute care.

Person Specification:
  • Registered Nurse.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Diploma or equivalent or relevant post-qualification Oncology or Haematology courses.
  • Relevant teaching and assessing/mentoring course or willingness to undertake.
  • Advanced communication course.
