Maths Graduate Mentor Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Maths Graduate to join our team as a Maths Graduate Mentor in a well-regarded secondary school in Croydon, South London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a maths-based degree holder to gain first-hand experience in a classroom environment, support students, and explore a path into teaching.

The successful candidate will assist students in their studies and exam preparation, applying their in-depth subject knowledge to lead sessions and use engaging resources to help students grasp concepts.

As a Graduate Maths Mentor, you will work with students of all abilities, helping them to reach their personal academic goals and play a crucial role in guiding students towards success and preparing them for their futures.

The school's focus on increasing the number of future Russell Group alumni makes this a unique and rewarding opportunity for a maths graduate to develop their skills and make a positive impact on students' lives.

Many previous Graduate Maths Mentors have successfully transitioned into qualified teachers through paid teacher training or PGCEs, making this a great stepping stone for those considering a career in teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Maths across KS3, KS4, and KS5
  • Assist students in their studies and exam preparation
  • Lead sessions and use engaging resources to help students grasp concepts
  • Work with students of all abilities to help them reach their personal academic goals
  • Contribute to the school's focus on increasing the number of future Russell Group alumni

Requirements:

  • Maths-based degree
  • Passion for exploring careers in education
  • Ability to work with students of all abilities
  • Strong subject knowledge and communication skills

What We Offer:

  • Full-time, long-term position
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Location: Croydon, South London - with excellent transport links
  • Salary: £500-£560 per week
