Raw Materials Manager

Henderson Brown Recruitment is seeking a driven and ambitious Raw Materials Manager to join a leading food business that supplies to major retailers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the supplier approval process, conducting audits to ensure compliance.
  • Create, approve, and review raw material specifications to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Act as the VACCP champion for raw materials, packaging, and services, addressing vulnerabilities.
  • Manage pesticide, heavy metal, and authenticity testing to ensure raw material safety and quality.
  • Maintain comprehensive supplier documentation and oversee Sedex compliance.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to address non-conformance issues and ensure traceability.
  • Establish clear quality specifications for packaging materials, ensuring they meet required standards.
  • Evaluate risks associated with new processes, products, or raw materials to ensure product safety, legality, and quality.
  • Support departments in updating and verifying HACCP as necessary.
  • Take responsibility for supply chain mapping of all materials and suppliers.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to address seasonal and quality issues.
