Job Description

Climax Studios is a renowned game development studio with a rich history spanning nearly three decades. We have established ourselves as a leader in the industry, delivering diverse digital experiences across various formats and winning numerous awards along the way.

We are seeking an exceptional Lead Programmer to join our team. As a key member of our game development crew, you will be responsible for designing and developing critical game systems, providing mentorship to junior programmers, and rapidly acquiring expertise in new technologies and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the design and development of core game mechanics
  • Offer guidance and support to junior programmers within the team
  • Rapidly acquire in-depth knowledge of emerging technologies and development methodologies
  • Establish and effectively communicate standard procedures to team members and other disciplines
  • Bring technical expertise and experience to overcome game development challenges
  • Efficiently profile and optimize game systems

Qualifications:

  • A degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years commercial games programming experience

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A deep understanding of engine architecture and experience with the full development lifecycle
  • Proven AI knowledge is highly desirable
  • Collaboration experience with design and content teams
  • Advanced C++ programming skills
  • Extensive Unreal Engine experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills, as well as an enthusiastic team player mindset
  • A logical thinker with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent mathematical abilities
  • A genuine passion for game programming
  • Experience leading a team
