Perinatal Psychiatrist Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide perinatal psychiatric care to the Solihull area, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality services to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide perinatal psychiatric care to the Solihull area, working closely with our multidisciplinary team.
- Reciprocal cover for the community team and inpatient Mother and Baby Unit during the working week.
- Collaborate with other agencies, including maternity services, health visitors, and GPs, to provide timely and appropriate information sharing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including Child Protection teams and Public Health colleagues.
- Contribute to the development of our perinatal mental health service, including the creation of new initiatives and programs.

Person Specification- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
- Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act (1983).
- MRCPsych or equivalent.
- Substantial experience of psychiatry, including working with people suffering from severe mental illness.
- Experience of providing psychological and/or social interventions.
- Experience of teaching and training at an undergraduate/postgraduate level.
- Commitment to clinical audit within a multidisciplinary team.
