Key Responsibilities
  • Provide perinatal psychiatric care to the Solihull area, working closely with our multidisciplinary team.
  • Reciprocal cover for the community team and inpatient Mother and Baby Unit during the working week.
  • Collaborate with other agencies, including maternity services, health visitors, and GPs, to provide timely and appropriate information sharing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including Child Protection teams and Public Health colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development of our perinatal mental health service, including clinical audit and service improvement projects.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act (1983).
  • MRCPsych or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience of psychiatry, including working with people suffering from severe mental illness.
  • Experience of providing psychological and/or social interventions.
  • Experience of teaching and training at an undergraduate/postgraduate level.
  • Commitment to clinical audit within a multidisciplinary team.
