Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric care to inpatients on our Evergreen unit, as well as providing clinical leadership on the unit to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT)
  • Take overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT
  • Conducting Comprehensive Assessments and Treatment Planning with patients, external stakeholders, and carers
  • Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings; Adhering to organisational admission and discharge policy and procedures
  • Timely discharge GP notifications and discharge summaries
  • Contribute to the unit governance through expertise and leadership
  • Prepare and supervise reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings alongside giving evidence within these meetings
Requirements
  • MBBS or Equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych with s12/AC approval
  • Full GMC registration with license to practice
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
  • Committed to continued professional development
  • Desirable to have had significant experience of inpatient mental health acute units
  • Able to work collaboratively as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
