Job Title: Clinical Lead - Diabetes Clinical Network

We are seeking an experienced consultant in adult acute diabetes care to join our team as a Clinical Lead for the South West Diabetes Clinical Network. As a key member of our network, you will play a crucial role in driving commissioning decision making, measuring and benchmarking quality and outcomes, and sharing best practice and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and delivery of strategic and operational plans for the South West Long Term Conditions Network and the South West CVD, Respiratory and Diabetes Regional Board.
  • Provide strong clinical leadership and work closely with clinical colleagues to identify and build collaborative networks.
  • Monitor and analyze the South West Long Term Conditions Network annual deliverables and achievements, including an appraisal of agreed objectives.
  • Escalate issues identified within the network that require attention from the South West CVD, Respiratory and Diabetes Regional Board.
About the Role:

This is a 0.3 WTE (three PAs per week) role, with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement. The arrangement will be on a sessional basis with the employing organisation or individual comparable arrangement.

As a Clinical Lead, you will be accountable for the network outcomes and will work closely with the SW Long Term Conditions Network team and the South West CVD, Respiratory and Diabetes Regional Board to achieve these goals.

Requirements:
  • Be an experienced clinician with credibility and the ability to command the respect of all clinical and non-clinical professionals.
  • Have significant experience in clinical leadership at a strategic level, excellent leadership skills, and experience in operating in complex, highly political environments.
  • Have knowledge and experience of working in formal clinical networks within the NHS and the ability to build excellent collaborative networks.
