Job Title: Positive Behavioural Specialist

We are seeking a Positive Behavioural Specialist to join our team at SeeAbility. As a Positive Behavioural Specialist, you will work with individuals who require support with their daily lives, providing a high level of care and assistance.

About the Role:
  • Provide direct support to individuals with complex needs, enabling them to participate in a wide range of activities.
  • Ensure good working practice, including understanding and awareness of health and safety.
  • Promote independence and develop skills, assisting with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences.
  • Work positively with other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure person-centred support.
  • Develop and contribute to the maintenance of records and support plans, and function as a Keyworker when required.
  • Support and maintain a clean-living environment appropriate to meet individual needs.
  • Participate in regular and ongoing training relevant to needs.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering support in a non-traditional way, working alongside the person we support, doing things with them, rather than for them.
  • Working alongside the person, giving them options for their support, whilst giving them the space they need.
  • Daily support in areas such as laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration.
  • Getting to know the person you will support, being forward thinking to support them in their life choices.
  • Taking personal responsibility for the quality of support, with an ability to be solution driven when dealing with daily life challenges.
  • Safeguarding, whilst supporting positive risk tasking and promoting the welfare of the person you will support.
  • Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims.
  • Planning and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements always being creative and exploring new opportunities.
  • Assisting the people, you will assist to manage their personal affairs making, preparing for, and attending any appointments and supporting with finances and budget planning.
  • Ensuring the person, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality.
  • To work in accordance with SeeAbility's values.
Requirements:
  • Hold a UK Driving Licence.
  • Be willing to work on a shift rota basis, covering mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Be able to drive an automatic vehicle.
