Job DescriptionThe General Ledger Specialist and Finance Assistant will be responsible for processing transactions in the general ledger, including month-end journals, payroll, and tax. This role involves understanding actuals, reconciling balance sheets, and supporting the team in general. The successful candidate will have a salary range of £35,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities- Booking of month-end journals, completing month-end procedures, and reporting.
- Completing month-end reporting packs and providing variance analysis.
- Reconciling bank accounts and transactions.
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Booking and processing of tax, payroll payments, and intercompany transactions.
- Reviewing bank cash flow status, reporting internally through balances and cashflow actuals.
- Reconciliation between student management systems and financial ledger.
- Studying towards ACCA/CIMA qualification or similar.
- Proficient in use of technology, databases, and office software, i.e., Microsoft Office/Google, and data management systems. Must be proficient in the use of Excel.
- Organised, excellent administrative and communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise responsibilities, time-manage appropriately, work under pressure, and deliver to deadlines.
