Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Psychologist to join our team at the Kent & Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work with adults with mental health difficulties, providing high-quality interventions and contributing to the delivery of excellent patient care.

The successful candidate will be working within the Mental Health Together team, delivering 'initial interventions' to individuals accessing adult mental health services as part of the Clinical Care Pathways in the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in emotionally charged settings, and a commitment to delivering evidence-based treatments.

Main Duties:

  • To deliver 'initial interventions' to people accessing adult mental health services.
  • To undertake other structured therapeutic psychological interventions using independent initiative within guidelines provided by a qualified psychologist.
  • To participate in clinically and service performance-related administration, audit, and research projects under the professional guidance of a qualified psychologist.

Essential criteria:

  • Upper 2nd class honours degree or higher in psychology.
  • Entitlement to graduate membership to BPS.

Desirable criteria:

  • Paid or voluntary work with people with mental health problems or other difficulties.
  • Further training in relevant areas.
