Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Service Manager

We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to head our Reading service office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chiller/HVAC and managing service engineers.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a team of service engineers and support staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to complete tasks efficiently.
- Handle client requests, including quotations, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
- Oversee depot revenue budget and maintain depot margin, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Ensure all maintenance renewals are sent promptly and priced correctly.
- Review engineer worksheets daily, correcting errors and providing feedback.
- Nurture engineer and support team learning and career progress, completing yearly appraisals and implementing findings.
- Approve holiday and sickness requests, liaising with HR as necessary.
- Ensure all branch work activity is conducted with the company's health and safety systems of work, promoting good work practices.
- Report accidents and near misses to the Service Director, with written reports.
- Arrange and authorise engineers to attend external training courses as required.
- Ensure engineers have all necessary equipment and tooling to complete repairs/maintenance safely and professionally.
- Maintain good housekeeping of service office, warehouse, and building surrounds.
