Job Summary

The North West London Integrated Care Board (NWL ICB) is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join their Clinical Effectiveness Programme. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation and delivery of the programme's data reporting function.

Main Duties of the Job

The overarching objectives for delivering accessible and robust data and information are to support:

  • Prioritisation and stratifying quality improvement support to primary care
  • Engagement and empowerment of practices and their PCN representatives to deliver high-quality care
  • Evaluation and on-going improvement of the clinical effectiveness programme

The successful candidate will lead the implementation of advanced information management systems and advanced data analytics methodologies for actionable insights, fostering a data-driven culture among the team. You will have to develop quality outputs and support data improvement programmes.

We are looking for someone with hands-on skills that has experience of working with clinicians and providing clinical and transformation analytics which can help improve patient pathways through quality improvement approaches.

About Us

NHS North West London Integrated Care Board (NWL ICB) is a statutory body responsible for planning and allocating health and care resources to improve the lives of people in eight boroughs across North West London.

The local population is large and diverse, with a wide range of health and care needs that are evolving all the time. Working with our partners including Councils, NHS provider Trusts, GPs and voluntary and community organisations we plan and allocate NHS resource to deliver a wide range of services including urgent and emergency care, mental health, primary care, elective hospital services and community care.

Job Responsibilities

The Data Analyst will:

Strategic Focus

  • Lead the implementation of advanced information management systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing NHS infrastructure to enhance data accessibility and streamline decision-making processes.
  • Implement advanced data analytics methodologies for actionable insights, fostering a data-driven culture among the team.

Operational Focus

  • Possesses advanced skills in the MS Office package, with expertise in Excel, Access, and SQL.
  • Advanced experience with SQL Server tools, including SSIS and T-SQL.
  • Competence in utilising Business Intelligence tools, particularly Tableau reporting.
  • Utilises Statistical Process Charts when appropriate for analysis and understanding.
  • Develops and monitors metrics for various use cases, including operational, inequalities, and performance metrics.
  • Ensures the development and quality assurance of data and support of Data improvement programmes for local and national datasets.
  • Keep up to date with national guidance, national datasets and local changes.
  • Analyse complex data and effectively communicates findings to senior managers within the NHS.
  • Provides detailed information and advice to influence organisational policy and decision-making.
  • Undertake ad-hoc analysis of highly complex and varied datasets upon request.
  • Responsible for the establishment of systems for the collection of data to support the priorities and programmes.
  • Be the local Information Subject Matter Expert on various data sets.
