Pharmacist Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join our Critical Care team at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical pharmacy services.
Main Responsibilities- Manage and deliver the pharmacy critical care service, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Develop and maintain the hospital formulary, collaborating with the Lead Pharmacist for Medicines Information.
- Provide training and education to clinical staff on critical care skills and best practices.
- Act as a trainee pharmacist tutor/diploma mentor, supporting the development of junior pharmacists.
- Contribute to the writing and checking of pharmacy information bulletins, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Lead and develop the clinical pharmacy service in critical care, promoting high-quality drug use, effective risk management, and patient safety initiatives.
- Manage drug budgets and advise on medication-related matters, ensuring adherence to trust policies and guidelines.
- Provide regular ward pharmacy coverage, ensuring a safe, effective, and efficient clinical pharmacy service.
- Support the clinical pharmacy services, dispensary, production, and medicines management program as needed.
- Lead on and contribute to relevant practice research or audit projects, publishing results as appropriate.

Requirements- MRPharmS or equivalent registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Completion of a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent.
- Mandatory continuing professional development to maintain fitness to practice.
- Relevant hospital experience, including staff management and leadership.
- Ability to critically review services and processes, with effective organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised and alone, with management experience and the ability to integrate research evidence into practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and influence senior pharmacy and medical staff.
- Ability to work under pressure, with effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software applications.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work flexible and unsocial hours, including late duties, weekend duties, and bank holidays.
