Role Overview
Position: Literacy Companion Volunteer
Location: Leatherhead
Commitment: Flexible Schedule
We are seeking a dedicated volunteer to engage with individuals we support by providing companionship and reading assistance. Your role will involve visiting and sharing stories with those in our care, fostering a warm and friendly environment.
Essential Qualities
- A passion for reading
- Excellent communication skills, with a friendly demeanor
- Reliability and punctuality
- Kindness, empathy, and patience
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection protocols
- Ability to assist with orientation and mobility when needed
Applicants must be over 18 years old to be considered for this position.

Safety Measures
To ensure the well-being of those we support, a DBS check and two references will be required prior to finalizing your volunteer role. Additionally, training in safeguarding and role-specific areas will be provided.
