Job Title: SEN Geography Specialist Wanted in Harlow School

Wayman Learning Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Geography Teacher to join their team at a specialist SEN school in Harlow. The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a background in Geography and experience teaching students with special educational needs.

The successful applicant will be responsible for creating engaging and interactive lessons that connect SEN students with the natural world, fostering a sense of curiosity and understanding of geography in a supportive adaptive learning environment.

This full-time permanent position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a skilled and committed SEN team to design adaptive lessons that meet individual student needs, focusing on real-world and practical learning approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver creative inclusive lesson plans that adapt to diverse learning abilities and make geography accessible and relevant.
  • Collaborate with the SEN team to foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging students to explore and learn about different environments, cultures, and landscapes in ways that resonate with their unique learning styles.
  • Maintain a clear and transparent approach to communication with colleagues, students, and parents to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a background in Geography and experience teaching students with special educational needs.
  • A strong ability to develop creative inclusive lesson plans that adapt to diverse learning abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a specialist SEN team.
  • A clear enhanced DBS check is required to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students.
