About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Claims Handler to join our team at Acorn Insurance and Financial Services Limited. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of technically complex claims, providing technical support and guidance to less experienced claims handlers, and handling technical referrals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Claims Management: Proactively manage a caseload of technically complex claims, ensuring they are accurately reserved and reported to reinsurers in a timely manner.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced claims handlers, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Technical Referrals: Handle technical referrals, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure the best outcome for the business.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training and auditing of less experienced handlers, helping to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Technical Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through training and seminars, providing feedback and training on issues identified.
Requirements
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex claims data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly Motivated: Be highly motivated, with a strong desire to learn and develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Team Player: Be an excellent team player, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve business objectives.
  • Technical Knowledge: Have a solid understanding of case law, statute, CPR, and Pre-Action Protocols.
