Fabricator - Plater

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator - Plater to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Fabricator - Plater, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing parts of a ship, ensuring high-quality results and meeting engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to plan and execute fabrication tasks.
- Marking and cutting materials to precise dimensions using various techniques.
- Assembling and installing ship structures, including shell, decks, bulkheads, frames, and longitudinals.
- Fabricating and assembling ship items, such as seats, ladders, false flooring, and panels.
- Preparing ships for float-off and sea trials by ensuring all necessary components are installed and functioning correctly.
- Modern Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent.
- Current knowledge and experience in fabrication, preferably in a shipbuilding or manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control procedures.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, with a strong focus on safety and risk assessment.
- Background in a major construction or manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of SHE and risk assessment principles.
