We are seeking a skilled Fabricator - Plater to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Fabricator - Plater, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing parts of a ship, ensuring high-quality results and meeting engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to plan and execute fabrication tasks.
  • Marking and cutting materials to precise dimensions using various techniques.
  • Assembling and installing ship structures, including shells, decks, bulkheads, frames, and longitudinals.
  • Fabricating and assembling ship items, such as seats, ladders, false flooring, and panels.
  • Preparing ships for float-off and sea trials by ensuring all necessary components are installed and functioning correctly.
Requirements:
  • Modern Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent.
  • Current knowledge and experience in fabrication, preferably in a shipbuilding or manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, with a strong focus on safety and risk assessment.
  • Background in a major construction or manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of SHE and risk assessment principles.
