Caregiver for Dementia Support

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care for a 93-year-old gentleman with declining Dementia.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in providing person-centered care and building close relationships with the service user and his family.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the service user with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Manage the service user's stoma and catheter, with training provided.
  • Keep the service user company and safe, engaging in activities such as going for walks, visiting places of interest, and watching nature programs.
  • Develop trust and understanding in the role, working collaboratively with the service user and his family.
Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.
  • Reliability, commitment, and a motivation to develop trust and understanding in the role.
  • Knowledge or experience of Dementia is desirable but not essential.
What We Offer
  • 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday working pattern.
  • £13 per hour.
  • Food and drinks provided/available while on shift.
  • Mileage money or taxi fares as needed.

Please note that this is a maternity cover position, starting in September 2024.
