About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Group Support Volunteer at our Dementia Resource Centre. As a valued member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting people affected by dementia in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals affected by dementia
- Assist with setting up and tidying away at the group
- Help facilitate social activities and engage individuals in meaningful conversations
- Ensure individuals have access to refreshments and other support services
Requirements:
- Availability to support the group every Wednesday afternoon
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of individuals affected by dementia
