Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Teaching Assistants in SEN and Primary education settings in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about supporting young learners in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons across KS1 and KS2, providing one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.

  • Work with students who exhibit challenging behaviour, helping to implement effective behaviour management strategies.

  • Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, assisting with personal care, communication, and social skills.

  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that all students feel supported and valued.

  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources to support lesson plans.

  • Observe and record students' progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to reports and assessments.

Requirements

  • Must hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential; a willingness to learn and adapt is key.

  • Must be willing to work in both KS1 and KS2 settings and with students exhibiting challenging behaviour, SEN, or SEMH needs.

  • Able to work full-time or on a supply basis, with flexibility to adapt to the needs of the school.

  • Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting the educational and emotional development of students.

  • Must hold a current DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
