Job Title: Senior Oncology Physiotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oncology Physiotherapist to join our team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in paediatric physiotherapy, with experience in assessing, treating, and managing children with a variety of conditions. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing a caseload of patients.

The role will involve working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care to patients. The successful candidate will also be required to participate in audit and research projects to promote quality standards and evidence-based practice.

About the Role
  • To provide an effective and efficient physiotherapy service, including assessing, treating, prioritizing, and delegating the changing workload within the designated area.
  • To improve paediatric skills and knowledge by rotating through various specialty areas.
  • To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of complex patients requiring specialist paediatric physiotherapy intervention.
  • To provide effective and efficient physiotherapy interventions in accordance with clinical guidelines and Trust policies and procedures.
  • To participate in audit/research to promote quality standards and evidence-based practice.
  • To undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients, using investigative and analytical skills, and to plan, implement, and evaluate individualized physiotherapy intervention.
  • To keep up to date with clinical and professional issues and undertake training and development activities to maintain competence to practice.
  • To participate in the emergency on-call, weekend, and evening service to provide 24-hour cover (involves working unsupervised).

Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy (MCSP)
  • HCPC Registration
  • Paediatric and/or Cardiorespiratory experience in a variety of settings
  • Experience of supervising staff/students
  • A good level of ability to clinically reason through complex patients
  • Ability to apply policy
  • Evidence of participation in audit/research projects
  • Evidence of Multidisciplinary team working
  • Evidence of good communication skills
  • Knowledge of current professional issues and government policies
