Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Forest School Leader to join our team at Bright Horizons New Eltham Day Nursery and Preschool. This is a full-time role, requiring a Level 3 qualified individual with significant experience in delivering exceptional care and education to children through Forest School sessions.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with the Room Leader to develop and implement Forest School programs that meet the specific interests and needs of our children. As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for leading Forest School activities, mentoring and coaching colleagues, and promoting a culture of safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver High-Quality Teaching and Care: Support 121 meetings with colleagues, families, and professionals to promote each child's development towards their personal milestones.
  • Plan and Deliver Engaging Activities: Prepare purposeful and productive Forest School sessions that promote learning across all areas of the curriculum.
  • Lead by Example: Provide clear leadership in the outdoor learning environment, including mentoring and coaching team members.
  • Safety and Well-being: Implement robust Health and Safety procedures, ensuring regulatory standards are met and children learn how to manage their safety effectively.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with colleagues and the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to protect and safeguard children, families, and colleagues.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 Forest School Leadership qualification or equivalent accredited outdoor learning qualification.
  • Significant experience working with children under 8 years old in a Forest School or Nature Kindergarten setting.
  • Expert knowledge of Forest School principles and philosophy.
  • Record of ongoing training and professional development.
Desirable Experience:

Experience leading Forest School sessions in a nursery or EYFS environment, working with SEN/EAL children, and coaching/mentoring would be advantageous.

Salary and Benefits:
