Forest Schools Program Lead

A unique opportunity has arisen for a passionate and creative Outdoor Education Specialist to join an inspiring early education team in the heart of Camden. This role involves leading outdoor learning sessions for children aged 2-7 years in beautiful natural settings where they can explore, develop, and form a lasting connection with the natural world.

The Forest Schools Program Lead will be responsible for planning, delivering, and managing engaging outdoor sessions that inspire curiosity, resilience, and hands-on learning. Working closely with class teachers and early years practitioners, the successful candidate will design a curriculum aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage, providing a well-rounded, nature-based educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Setting up resources and maintaining equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
  2. Supporting child-led activities and encouraging creativity and exploration.
  3. Conducting regular risk assessments to guarantee the safety of all participants.
  4. Liaising with local authorities to secure access to outdoor spaces and establish partnerships.
  5. Collaborating with senior leadership to embed forest school experiences across the school's timetable and promote outdoor education.

Ideal candidates will hold a Level 3 Forest School certification or equivalent and have at least one year of experience in a similar role. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential, alongside a commitment to supporting children's development through outdoor learning.

Job Details:

Salary: £32,000 per annum, depending on experience
Location: Camden, London
