Experienced Special Education Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
Hiring a skilled and compassionate individual to work as a 1:1 teaching assistant for a student with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, at a mainstream secondary school in Havering.

A reputable mainstream secondary school, graded 'good' by Ofsted, seeks an experienced teaching assistant to support a student with SEMH needs. The school provides a specialist provision for children with special educational needs and has a strong track record of training and supporting staff.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with SEMH, Autism, or ASD. They should possess patience, passion, and empathy to create a positive impact on the student's educational experience. A background in supporting students in a school environment, along with relevant training in SEN, Autism, or Child Psychology, is highly desirable.
Salary and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, based on a 37-hour week. The school offers additional support and training for career progression and has a successful track record of training LSAs and support staff through their affiliation with a specialist teacher training university.
