Mechanical Platform Systems Designer

This Principal Engineer - Fluid Systems position is a key part of our team's success in designing and developing Mechanical Platform Systems for Nuclear Submarines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Fluid Systems Design and be able to work effectively with suppliers and customers.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Lead the development of functional engineering solutions that meet complex cross-functional interactions and requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop equipment and component specifications that meet challenging product demands.
- Develop requirements and acceptance criteria with customers based on operational scenarios, use cases, and design considerations.
- Analyze and perform engineering calculations to make design decisions and demonstrate system performance.
- Communicate design evidence to justify safe, effective designs and generate customer confidence.
- Manage and coordinate stakeholders to solve complex engineering problems and make responsible decisions.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree-level education in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science subjects.
- Chartered Engineer status within a recognized engineering institute.
- Experience in Fluid Systems Design.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work with complex engineering calculations.
