Product Quality Controller

The Product Quality Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency within the operations of Simpson Booth Limited. This position requires a dynamic individual with a keen focus on improving key performance indicators such as the cost of poor quality, downtime, and repair rates.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyze and identify key areas contributing to the cost of poor product quality.

2. Develop and implement strategies to reduce CoPQ through process improvements and supplier quality management.

3. Liaise with suppliers to reduce supplier NCRs through a relationship-building approach.

Downtime Reduction:

1. Work with the Engineering team to ensure FMECA becomes part of the engrained product quality improvement cycle.

2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze downtime causes and trends.

3. Implement preventive measures and corrective actions to minimize unplanned downtime.

4. Lead root cause analysis investigations to address recurring issues and enhance operational reliability.

5. Assess repair rates for equipment and identify opportunities for improvement.

6. Work closely with manufacturing teams to implement best practices.

7. Develop continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing repair rates and associated costs.

Safety Systems Enhancement:

1. Collaborate with the HSE team to ensure compliance with industry safety standards and regulations.

2. Feed into data-driven decision-making processes to optimize operations and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

1. Previous relevant roles in an Engineering or Quality environment.

2. Related degrees/certification is advantageous.

3. This role could suit someone looking to transition into a QC role from Engineering or with a strong interest in quality control.

4. Experience in a manufacturing environment or similar role.

5. Experience in a quality role or engineering environment looking to specialize in product quality.

6. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.

7. Knowledge of safety systems and regulations in the oil and gas sector is advantageous.

8. Familiarity with digitalization trends and technologies to modernize the department's approach.
