Job Title: Product Quality Engineer

At Simpson Booth, we are seeking a highly skilled Product Quality Engineer to join our team. As a Product Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency within our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse and identify key areas contributing to the cost of poor product quality.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce CoPQ through process improvements and supplier quality management.
  • Liaise with suppliers to reduce supplier NCRs through a relationship building approach.
  • Work with the Engineering team to ensure FMECAs become part of the engrained product quality improvement cycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse downtime causes and trends.
  • Implement preventive measures and corrective actions to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations to address recurring issues and enhance operational reliability.
  • Assess repair rates for equipment and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to implement best practices.
  • Develop and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing repair rates and associated costs.
  • Collaborate with the HSE team to ensure compliance with industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Feed into data-driven decision-making processes to optimize operations and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Previous relevant roles in an Engineering or Quality environment.
  • Related degrees/certification is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.
  • Excellent team player ethos is essential.
  • Knowledge of safety systems and regulations in the oil and gas sector is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with digitalization trends and technologies to modernise the departments approach.
