Job Title: Associate Public Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Public Health Nurse to join our team at the West Hertfordshire community respiratory service. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to provide high-quality care to patients with tuberculosis (TB) and other respiratory conditions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support and monitor patients with active TB, latent TB, and non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infections.
  • Conduct TB contact tracing screening, including Mantoux testing.
  • Supervise treatment, including directly observed therapy (DOT).
  • Develop relationships with UKSHA and present at cohort reviews.
  • Work closely with acute respiratory physicians at Watford Hospitals Healthcare Trust.

Requirements:
  • RN Level 1 registration with the NMC.
  • Post-registration qualification in tuberculosis or equivalent experience.
  • Teaching/mentorship qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Possession of a degree or equivalent.
  • Post-registration experience working with TB patients.
  • Experience of working within a community setting.
  • Experience of undertaking directly observed therapy.
Key Attributes:
  • Good effective communication skills, verbally and in writing.
  • Evidence of expertise in clinical skills.
  • A working knowledge of clinical governance and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to perform Mantoux testing and interpret results.
  • Sound working knowledge of guidelines in the field of TB care.
