About the Role

The Diamond Detector Group is seeking a skilled Detector Scientist to join their team in the evaluation and development of Spectroscopic X-ray detectors. As a key member of the group, you will contribute to shaping the detector landscape for the new beamlines planned at Diamond-II.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specification and design of detector systems for beamlines
  • Developing expertise in technologies such as sensors, detector read-out, and detector ancillary electronics
  • Collaborating with internal and external staff to produce documentation and calibration programs
  • Fault finding and installation of detector systems
  • Data analysis using software packages like MatLab and Origin
Requirements
  • Degree in physics or significant equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of radiation detector maintenance and operation, X-ray spectroscopy detectors, and electronic test equipment
