Phlebotomist - South and East Leeds GP Group

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at South and East Leeds GP Group. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venepuncture to obtain blood samples from patients under the direct supervision of practice nurses and in accordance with specific PCN guidelines and protocols.
- Complete NHS Health Checks, blood pressure readings, and ECGs following additional training (if required).
- Accurately label and record blood samples in patient records in accordance with practice procedure.
- Ensure timely dispatch of samples to laboratories.
- Identify and report any anomalies to senior staff members.
- Liaise with administrative teams to ensure seamless communication.
- Restock consulting rooms and perform health promotion or education work as required.
Essential Requirements
- Meet DBS standards.
- Clinical skills in phlebotomy.
- Ability to recognize and work within limits of competence and seek advice when needed.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work to policies and procedures.
- Willingness to receive basic clinical training.
- Valid driving license and own transport.
- Ability to adapt to working with different audiences.
- Good interpersonal skills.
