Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Ecologist to join our innovative consultancy, Penguin Recruitment, in the East Midlands region. As a Senior Ecologist, you will be responsible for leading diverse ecological projects from initial concept to final delivery, mentoring junior ecologists, and ensuring the highest quality of data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on ecological projects, including Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments.
  • Mentor junior ecologists, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them thrive.
  • Carry out site assessments with precision, ensuring the highest quality of data.
  • Oversee and carry out the production of top-tier reports.
  • Guide clients through each stage of their projects.
  • Aid in securing new projects, contributing to proposals and tenders.
  • Work with leadership to broaden the scope of ecological services offered.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Ecology or a related discipline.
  • A degree in Ecology or a related field.
  • Expertise in Biodiversity Net Gain and Ecological Impact Assessments.
  • Membership of a relevant body (e.g., CIEEM) or commitment to apply.
  • Experience with UKHab surveys or protected species licences is an advantage.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is essential.
