Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ecological Consultant to join our team at CHM Recruit. As an Ecological Consultant, you will play a key role in providing high-quality ecological expertise to our clients, ensuring that their projects move forward while protecting and benefiting nature and wildlife.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a degree in ecology or a related field and a minimum of 2 years' experience working in ecological consultancy or a similar sector. You will have a strong understanding of relevant UK environmental legislation and experience in ecological field survey work, report writing, and development of mitigation measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct protected species surveys and assessments, including bats, great crested newts, water voles, reptiles, and Schedule 1 birds.
  • Undertake site and habitat surveys and assessments.
  • Provide conservation management advice on species and habitats.
  • Act as an Ecological Clerk of Works on selected projects.
