Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Trading Underwriter to join our team at Aviva. As a Trading Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting profitable business while operating within agreed guidelines and authority levels.

About the Role:

You will develop, build, and strengthen relationships with aligned customers/brokers, providing technical support and assistance and dealing with all queries. You will use a network of relevant stakeholders to deliver the widest proposition appropriate to the customer and work independently, within underwriting authority, conferring where appropriate more technical and complex risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite profitable business while operating within agreed guidelines and authority levels
  • Develop, build, and strengthen relationships with aligned customers/brokers
  • Provide technical support and assistance and deal with all queries
  • Use a network of relevant stakeholders to deliver the widest proposition appropriate to the customer
  • Work independently, within underwriting authority, conferring where appropriate more technical and complex risks

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of insurance product features & processes
  • Knowledge of underwriting – Property & Liability
  • Good planning, prioritisation, and organisation skills
  • Excellent communication, listening, time management and negotiating skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a large complex organisation
  • Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation
