Route Optimisation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Route Optimisation Specialist to join Bis Henderson in Carlisle.

This role involves optimising vehicle routes to maximise efficiency and meet customer requirements, taking into account Working Time Regulations (WTR) and Drivers' Hours Rules.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Operational Leads to enhance interdepartmental collaboration and increase profitability, as well as monitoring and recording KPI information accurately on company systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimise vehicle routes to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Operational Leads to enhance interdepartmental collaboration and increase profitability.
  • Monitor and record KPI information accurately on company systems, ensuring targets are achieved for safe and efficient fleet usage.
  • Provide daily support to drivers, handling real-time communications and resolving issues as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in transport and logistics, preferably with a focus on route optimisation.
  • Proficiency in using transportation management systems.
  • Strong understanding of driver's hours regulations and working time directive.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an analytical approach.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, using initiative when required.
  • Confident, outgoing personality with a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Attention to detail and strong numerical/analytical skills, including experience with Microsoft products.
  • Flexible approach to work demands, including occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Good telephone manner and communication skills.
Estimated Salary: £36,500 per annum + additional benefits.
