Job Title: Transport Operations Coordinator

We are seeking a well-organised and efficient individual to join our team as a Transport Operations Coordinator. This role is responsible for planning vehicle movements, working closely with other traffic planners to schedule daily activities, ensuring the most efficient use of vehicles and drivers while adhering to WTR and Drivers Hours Rules, vehicle weights and dimensions, and the Road Traffic Act.

The successful candidate will be responsible for effective planning of an agreed amount of resource (vehicles, drivers, trailers) to maximise vehicle utilisation and minimise costs. They will liaise with internal departments to ensure customers are notified of any changes to collections/deliveries and charges reflect these changes. Allocation of work from vehicles, drivers, collections, and deliveries will be prioritised to meet customer requirements, ensuring accurate recording of KPI information on company and other IT systems. The role also involves driver de-briefings, checking and authorising driver timesheets, and downloading Tachograph data.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous transport and logistics experience
  • Previous use of transport systems
  • Good numerical and analytical skills, including experience of spreadsheets and computer-based systems, including Microsoft products
  • Flexible approach to work demands, including some evening and weekend work
  • Good telephone manner and communication skills

Estimated Salary: £ We estimate the salary for this role to be around £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
