Electrical Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in a leading engineering and maintenance provider. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the production of electrical design drawings and calculations from client requirements, associated technical standards, and 'best' engineering practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and plan projects to ensure timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Complete electrical design drawings and calculations from client requirements.
  • Carry out technical reviews of electrical design drawings and calculations.
  • Develop standards and tools to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Participate in site surveys and provide reports of findings and requirements.
  • Notify the LV Operations Director of significant commercial, technical, or contractual risks.
  • Attend weekly meetings for project planning and progress review.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of industrial power systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial control and automation systems.
  • Knowledge of BS EN Power Switchgear and Control gear Assemblies.
  • Knowledge of BS EN 60947 Low-voltage Switchgear and Control gear.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution theory, cable sizing, motor starting, and control techniques.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication networks, protocols, and architecture.
  • Knowledge of Project Management 'best practice'.
  • Proficient in current release of Autodesk (AutoCAD) or Bentley (Microstation / Promis.e) and Microsoft Office 365 software.
  • Some hands-on experience of Power Switchgear and Control gear Assemblies.
  • Must be innovative, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to concentrate on 'big picture' issues.
  • Must be a team player with a knowledge of system engineering and project delivery processes.
  • Must possess a keen commercial awareness.
  • ONC Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Working to HNC/HND qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
