Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Charge Nurse to provide leadership for the delivery of patient care within the Regional Stroke Unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for the delivery of patient care within the Regional Stroke Unit.
  • Have managerial responsibility for the area in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse, including supervision and deployment of staff.
  • Be part of the multidisciplinary team, responsible for assessment of care needs, evaluation of care plans, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to stroke patients.
  • Manage newly diagnosed stroke patients to ensure compliance with national standards and collate data for submission to the Scottish Stroke Care Audit.
  • Maintain both clinical and staff governance.

Requirements:

  • Have a PVG Scheme membership/record.
  • Be able to demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity.
