Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Professional to join our team at Peabody. As a key member of our residential care team, you will provide essential support to young people aged 16-17, helping them to regain their independence and achieve their goals.

About the Role:

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and communication skills. You will work closely with our residents to identify their needs and develop personalized support plans, ensuring they receive the best possible care and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on support to residents, including welfare checks, administrative tasks, and collaboration with external services.
  • Develop and maintain consistent, trusting relationships with residents, ensuring they feel secure and supported.
  • Manage complex needs, offering practical and emotional support to help residents regain their independence.
  • Work autonomously, navigating and defusing difficult situations to prevent escalation.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with teenagers aged 16-17 years.
  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge or experience of safeguarding and trauma-informed principles.
