Job Overview

The Grange Nursing Home seeks an experienced Activities Co-ordinator to develop and implement a comprehensive programme of engaging activities and programmes for residents. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our residents, particularly those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and deliver a tailored activities programme that caters to the diverse needs and interests of residents.
  2. Organise group and individual activities that promote social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation.
  3. Collaborate with nursing and care staff to ensure activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of care needs.
  4. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to inform programme improvements.
  5. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to encourage participation and gather input on future activities.
  6. Coordinate special events and outings that foster community involvement and provide enriching experiences for residents.

Requirements

  1. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, their families, and staff members.
  2. Experience in senior care settings is highly desirable, with knowledge of dementia care practices.
  3. Ability to design engaging programmes that cater to diverse interests and abilities within the resident population.
  4. Compassionate approach with a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of residents through meaningful activities.
  5. Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate documentation.

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time, permanent role working 30 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate of £11.45. The successful candidate will be required to work day shifts, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability.
