About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team at Latcom Ltd as a Principal Ecologist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering complex ecological projects, including habitat classification surveys, protected species surveys, and technical reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of ecological projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Technical Reporting: Produce complex technical reports, including PEA reports, BNG reports, protected species reports, and Habitat Management Plans, to the highest standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage junior ecologists, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their professional development and success.
  • Logistical and Legislative Problem Solving: Identify and resolve complex logistical and legislative issues, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws.
  • Financial Management: Manage project finances, tracking progress and ensuring accurate budgeting and forecasting.
Requirements
  • MCIEEM Membership: Hold full membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management.
  • Protected Species Licence: Possess a relevant protected species licence.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Hold a relevant bachelor's degree (or higher) in a field such as ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Have at least 5 years of experience in ecological consulting, project management, or a related field.
  • Skills: Possess excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
