About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Night Recovery Worker to join our Mental Health Crisis Alternatives Service team at Hestia Housing Support. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health crises and guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis support and interventions to individuals in need, ensuring they receive the necessary help and guidance.
  • Collaborate with the development team to tender for new services and retain existing ones, promoting the organization's mission and values.
  • Offer basic first contact advice and security to clients, contacting the On-Call manager or emergency services as required.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment within the project, adhering to high standards and logging maintenance issues accordingly.
  • Conduct regular Health and Safety checks, monitor emergency alarm systems, and patrol the building to ensure security.
  • Deal with emergency situations, taking appropriate action in the event of a fire or other incident, and contacting emergency services as necessary.
  • Keep accurate records of all work and activities within the project, adhering to procedures.
  • Perform nightly cleaning duties on the cleaning rota within the building.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the building, implementing rules, policies, and procedures as required.
  • Access management and off-site support as needed to manage situations effectively.
  • Treat clients with dignity and respect, remaining calm and objective in difficult situations.
  • Answer out-of-hours telephone enquiries from service users, offering general support and access to emergency services if required.

Requirements
  • Experience in providing positive customer service.
  • Previous experience of using computer-based systems to accurately record work and client details.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety within a Registered Care Home.
  • Some knowledge of housing management, including maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to monitor and maintain the safety and security of a Registered Care Home.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Experience of working with people with mental health needs.
  • A good knowledge of issues related to signs, symptoms, and treatments of mental illness, with the ability to assess service users' declining mental health and take appropriate action.
  • Understanding of and ability to implement good Equality & Diversity practice.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
