About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental Advisor to join our team at JK Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, customers, and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report on the implementation of health and safety risk controls, ensuring compliance with corporate, company, and legislative requirements.
  • Assist the Environmental Manager in improving environmental performance, providing guidance and advice on health and safety matters as required.
  • Audit operational requirements against EHS management systems and procedures, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Support and assist in Process Risk Assessments, Safe Working Procedures, and advising on improvements.
  • Conduct accident investigations and reporting, ensuring that all incidents are thoroughly investigated and documented.
  • Prepare, implement, and plan specific and complex lifting plans for non-standard operations, ensuring the safety of employees and equipment.
  • Guide departmental managers and supervisors on standard lifting operations, controls, and procedures, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Train and guide staff on new H&S working methods, policies, procedures, and working instructions, ensuring that all employees are equipped to work safely.
  • Provide advice on health and safety compliance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Engage staff of all levels in making health and safety improvements, demonstrating enthusiasm and modeling positive safety behaviors.
  • Provide clear standards, measures, and governance on HS&E, ensuring that all employees understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Support on-site targets, goals, and strategy for site HS&E compliance and continuous improvement, working closely with the SHE Director and other stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of HSE projects across the site, ensuring that all projects are delivered safely and on time.
  • Coach and teach compliance and understanding of HS&E policies and procedures, ensuring that all employees are equipped to work safely.
  • Consult with the HR Department and Occupational Health provider as necessary, ensuring that all employees receive the support they need to work safely.
  • Maintain competencies through external sources, including courses, seminars, industry, and professional bodies, staying up-to-date with the latest health and safety best practices.
Requirements
  • HSE Advisor with a NEBOSH qualification and from a manufacturing background.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing is essential.
  • Engineering competency or demonstrative experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years similar experience.
