We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner Physiotherapist to join our esteemed team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

This exciting opportunity has arisen to cover a maternity leave, and we are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centered care, championing quality, and driving performance targets.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced physiotherapy practitioner who possesses strong leadership and team-building skills, with a proven track record of managing and leading teams at a senior level.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Joint Health Integrated MSK Service, which offers a single point of access for self-referral, specialist assessment, investigations, and treatment for patients with musculoskeletal conditions.

  • Develop strong relationships with patients, carers, and families to provide empathetic and reassuring support.
  • Utilize complex decision-making skills to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
  • Provide professional leadership and support within a multi-professional team.
  • Develop and implement locally approved formularies and prescribe within agreed limits under supervision.
  • Collaborate with the multi-professional team to promote quality care, participate in audit, and contribute to unit protocols and practice.
  • Support the Consultants, Intensive care/Anaesthetic Registrars, and other Doctors in providing patients with treatment plans within the specialty.
Requirements
  • First level registered nurse/professional UK registration.
  • First Degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Post registration course in specialty.
  • Master's in Advanced Clinical Practice.
  • Registered health professional with legal and accountable responsibilities for non-medical prescribing.
  • Teaching qualification (C&G730, CertEd, PGCE or equivalent).
Knowledge and Experience
  • Significant demonstrable experience of working in the setting, including senior-level management and leadership.
  • Knowledge of Clinical risk management and Governance.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Supporting patients, carers, and families who have been given bad news.
