Job Title: Clinical Driving Assessor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Clinical Driving Assessor. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering driving assessments that objectively measure an individual's capability to drive safely.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a newly opened outreach service based in Hampshire, as part of a network of 19 assessment centres across the UK. You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team in client-centred environments to apply your skills and knowledge to assess individual driver safety for full licence holders and identify learning potential for provisional licence holders.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assess clients for a range of services, including driving ability, car adaptation, driving from a wheelchair, and hi-tech solutions.
  • To advise on transfer and seating needs for adults or children, trial of equipment, and provide advice on seating and posture.
  • To assist in the preparation and delivery of internal/external training courses for professionals and others, and participate in the delivery of in-service training for staff.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with a Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, or other clinical qualification. You must be a member of the NMC, HCPC, or other regulatory body, and have a full driving licence. Experience in administering standardised assessments and clinical reasoning, as well as post-qualification experience of working with clients with physical disability and neurological rehabilitation, is essential.
