About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to join our Group Procurement function at Landsec. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving cost savings, maximizing value, and delivering a quality service across the organization.

As Category Director, you will act as deputy to the Group Procurement Director and be responsible for leading the IT and marketing category. Your primary focus will be on driving cost, quality, supply, and sustainability improvements through strategic sourcing activities, including supplier relationship management, vendor consolidation, and purchase compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the IT and marketing category, driving continuous improvement, best value, and quality partnerships with suppliers.
  • Develop and implement category strategies for IT and marketing, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage a small team of category managers and commercial analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure successful category management.
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of market/supplier contacts for IT and marketing, facilitating strategic procurement exercises.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Extensive procurement experience, including at least three years of building and managing teams.
  • Proven negotiation ability and ability to leverage this skill to drive value while building quality partnerships.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Successful results in managing IT and marketing procurement activity, including sourcing, supplier management, and building value-driving category plans.
