About the Role:

Cancer Research UK's Procurement team is seeking a Senior Category Manager to manage procurement activities within our Marketing category. This is a varied and autonomous role that will involve dealing with media contracts, commercial arrangements, sourcing to contract, and contract & supplier management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own procurement activities within the Marketing category, including category strategy & planning, sourcing to contract, and contract & supplier management.
  • Develop and maintain the Procurement strategy for the Marketing category.
  • Implement Marketing category strategies and monitor performance against agreed initiatives.
  • Define Marketing's sourcing strategy for individual goods and services while establishing and maintaining preferred supplier lists.
  • Lead sourcing events to ensure aggregation of demand and competitive benchmarking of quality and cost.
  • Lead contract negotiations and draft commercial schedules.
  • Communicate preferred Marketing supplier arrangements and transition contracts to the relevant contract manager.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage Marketing's contract governance, compliance, spend, and lifecycle.
  • Support and lead in managing supplier performance and risks to ensure value for money and risk mitigation.

Requirements:

  • Procurement professional from a large organisation with experience managing a large category.
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of managing complex Marketing contracts and suppliers.
  • Strong planning and prioritisation with an ability to manage workload independently.
  • Comfortable manipulating and presenting data with strong IT skills.
